Beenleigh Steel Fabrications, an iconic manufacturer in Logan City, Queensland, is gearing up for significant growth with the construction of a new $4.2 million facility in Berrinba. This expansion, supported by the Palaszczuk Government’s Jobs and Regional Growth Fund, highlights the company’s dedication to the local community and employment opportunities.
Treasurer and Minister for Investment Cameron Dick emphasized the importance of this new manufacturing facility, which will double the company’s floorspace and production capacity. The project is expected to create at least 59 new jobs over the next five years, contributing to the economic development of Logan City.
Beenleigh Steel Fabrications, operating in Crestmead since 1980, has established a strong presence in the market for architectural steel fabrications across Australia. Their steel is a vital component in various large-scale projects, including stadiums, bridges, hospitals, army barracks, carparks, and rail stations.
Director Anthony Stoeckert expressed enthusiasm for the future of the company and the Logan area, highlighting the job opportunities the expansion will bring. The construction phase is set to begin shortly and is projected to be completed within six months.
The expansion plan includes creating opportunities for up to eight apprentices and trainees annually in various fields such as boilermaking, rigging, machine operation, and computer skills. Beenleigh Steel Fabrications is actively seeking local talent to join their workforce and contribute to the growth of the city.
Today’s ceremonial sod turn event was attended by Federal Member for Rankin Jim Chalmers, Logan Deputy Mayor Jon Raven, Treasurer Cameron Dick, and representatives from BSF. This project signifies the confidence that businesses have in Queensland’s economy and showcases Logan City as a promising hub for investment.
The construction of the new facility aligns with Queensland’s Economic Recovery Plan, aiming to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 and stimulate economic growth. Additionally, it reflects the positive outlook on Queensland’s potential as a host for the 2032 Olympic Games.
