Logan City Council has recently announced City Venue Management (CVM) as the appointed operator for additional aquatic and recreational facilities within the City of Logan. Effective from the 1st of July, CVM will extend its management to include Logan North, Beenleigh, Bethania, and Eagleby centres, in addition to the existing Logan West Aquatic and Fitness Centre and Gould Adams Park Aquatic Centre.
The decision comes as a strategic move by the council to streamline operations and enhance services for residents. Mayor Jon Raven expressed confidence in CVM’s expertise in managing pools and fitness centers, allowing the council to allocate resources more effectively towards community programs. This initiative aims to provide better value and accessibility for pool users across the city, aligning with the council’s commitment to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
Mayor Raven emphasized the significance of the partnership with CVM, highlighting the benefits it would bring to the community. The selection process was rigorous, ensuring that the transition would ultimately lead to enhanced experiences for members and visitors at the aquatic facilities. As Logan City prepares for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the collaboration with CVM aims to inspire and support local athletes, particularly through the Rackley’s Swim School program.
With over 30 years of industry experience, CVM has established itself as a trusted operator in South East Queensland. CVM’s Chief Executive, Jay Clarke, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded role in Logan, emphasizing the commitment to delivering high-quality programs and fostering a sense of community at each facility. The focus extends beyond recreational activities to include athlete development and sporting pathways, with a vision to support emerging talents towards future championships.
While the transition of operations is set to take place by the end of June, existing users can expect a seamless continuation of services with familiar faces at the facilities. CVM aims to retain as many council employees as possible to ensure a smooth transition and maintain the quality of services. The company’s leadership is dedicated to revitalizing the aquatic network in Logan, creating inclusive and engaging experiences for all residents.
The collaboration between Logan City Council and CVM reflects a strategic partnership aimed at optimizing resources, enhancing community services, and promoting a culture of health and well-being. As the city gears up for future sporting events, such as the 2032 Olympics, the investment in aquatic facilities and athlete development aligns with a broader vision of fostering a vibrant and active community in Logan.
With CVM’s proven track record and expertise in managing leisure facilities, the partnership signifies a positive step towards creating a sustainable and inclusive recreational environment for residents of Logan City. The mutual commitment to excellence and community well-being sets a promising foundation for future developments and initiatives in the leisure industry.
